KMAO | CHILI OIL
KMAO | CHILI OIL
THE STORY
Kmao started as an idea in a dim sum restaurant in LA’s Chinatown. The thought came to us that food deserves better than the bland chili oil being served at the table . There needed to be a chili oil out there that was both flavorful and spicy. And so it began. We brainstormed what flavor profiles a chili oil needed to have and what ingredients would give us those characteristics. Toasted chili peppers gives off notes of smoke. Roasted garlic gives it sweetness and earth. Fish sauce is where the savory and umami profile comes from.
THE HOW
Kmao should be eaten with your chinese take out when it's movie night. It should be added to your hot Ramen when you're feeling under the weather. It can be mixed with ranch and eaten with wings when your favorite team is playing. Kmao likes to be invited to family barbequeswhere it has a chance to mingle with BBQ sauce and talk about pork, beef, and chicken.
